    * Invite boxes: In the invite box of an app, it'll bring up a link to refresh the list of friends who have this app and then select them in the invite box.

    * Friends' list: You can put all your friends who are using an app into a friends' list by visiting the invite page of the app, click "refresh" to collect all the users, then visit your friends' list and click "edit list" and choose "select your friends from the previous app".

    * External pages with links to facebook friends: To add from place like the zynga games discussions... Click on the greasemonkey icon on the bottom right of the browser and click "user script commands" > "show bulk add friends dialog" > then on the web page type in a "comment" for the other facebook user to see and click "bulk add everyone here". Make sure you click "disable the auto add on profile page" after you use it!

WARNING: Use in moderation, facebook are known to ban people from adding friends for a few days if they're adding too many, too quickly.

The Opposite of this script is the facebook deletes script... http://userscripts.org/scripts/show/43404

If you run out of invites for a game, some games have a backdoor to invite people, try this script... http://userscripts.org/scripts/show/45265

    Issues

    * Sometimes it may get stuck while refreshing the list of friends, hit refresh on that page. Here's some other tips http://userscripts.org/topics/43948

    * The list of "friends who have this application" list in facebook is not always correct unfortunately.

    * Facebook sometimes has a captcha for some users when they try to add a friend, I don't know how they pick which users. In the discussion area of an application, this sometimes doesn't work in firefox.

I set up a page on Facebook – Tips & Tricks (PLEASE JOIN!) wanted to invite all my friends, but it would have taken an eternity because for some strange reason Facebook doesn’t allow you to “select all” friends when sending an invite. I mean, they’ll let you do it… but only if you click one at a time! Uugh.

Well anyway I went on a little search and found that you could cheat the system by inserting a little javascript to make it happen! Here is how to do it:
    1. Go to your Event, Group or page and click “Invite People”.
    2. Once the page has loaded you should see all of your friends, but they are not selected.
    3. At this point, copy and paste the javascript code below into your Web browser’s address bar, then hit “Enter”.
    4. If all goes well, it selects all of your friends!
    javascript:elms=document.getElementById('friends').getElementsByTagName('li');for(var fid in elms){if(typeof elms[fid] === 'object'){fs.click(elms[fid]);}}

Oh, and by the way, if you found this helpful please tweet it or share it on Facebook to help others find it too. The more people who share it, the more people it helps!

UPDATE: For anyone telling me it doesn’t work, well… I just tried it on 21/3/2010. It does work. So try another Web browser or something. ALSO… It takes some time for all of the invites to be sent. They go into a queue. So if you saw them all get selected, just be patient. The messages WILL get delivered to them over the next 24 hours or so.

The script will not work with the screen below

Thanks to Hakon for originally sharing this tip. It was a lifesaver!

Earlier in March, Sorority Life and Mobsters creator Playdom launched a brand-new Facebook game, Social City, challenging players on the social network to build a small town into a thriving metropolis. Longtime gamers might recognize this style of game from popular PC game SimCity -- look at Social City as SimCity Lite, with the addition of (no surprise) hooks and incentives to get your friends to play along with you. These six tips will help you on your way toward creating a booming concrete jungle

    1. Build factories to earn money

The primary way you'll increase your city's prosperity is through building factories and then assigning various contracts to them. There is a limit on how many factories you are able to have in your city depending on your population (more people = more factories). Each factory in turn is allowed to work on one contract at a time -- for example, you might have one factory producing prom dresses for twenty minutes and another churning out 'hit parade' CDs for a full twenty-four hours. Once the contract is completed, you'll have to come back to collect the profits (they expire after a period of time relative to how long it took to manufacture the product -- yup, just like you learned in Farmville and Cafe World), clean up the factory, then select a new contract to work on.

    Pro tip
: While you may personally want to build your city's economy solely around the manufacture of cute stuffed animals, it's good to vary what you are producing based on how often you'll be able to check back on its progress. Yes, that means sometimes accepting contracts for less-exciting pain pills and tires.

    2. Build residential areas to increase your population

To increase your city's population, you need to build cottages, apartment complexes, hotels and more to 'generate' people. Like factory contracts, each building will produce a certain number of citizens in a certain length of time. Small cottages will produce only a handful of people but in a very short amount of time, while apartment complexes (which you'll have to wait to unlock at Level 17) generate one thousand people in twenty-four hours. When the building has finished producing people, you'll have to click on the house to add them to your population. It's not as creepy as it sounds, we promise!

Pro tip: Keep all residential houses on the same time cycle in a close grid area so you can quickly click through them to 'collect' new residents and then click through again to set them up for repopulation.

    3. Build leisure buildings to increase your population cap

People need more than just factories and homes in a city -- the third type of building you'll acquire in Social City are 'leisure' buildings. These range from burger joints and schools to tennis courts and pizzerias. There is no 'timed' element to leisure buildings - once you've built them, they'll raise your population cap permanently (although you will need to click on them to 'clean' them up every once in a while). They don't generate money, but they're still an important part of your city that you'll need to invest money into in order to increase the number of people who can live there.

Pro tip: Some leisure buildings take up more space than others, like the 2x2 grid movie theater. If you're hurting for space to fit new factories and residential buildings, try getting a small but effective leisure spot like one-grid police station (why a police station adds 'happiness' to your city is beyond us, but we'll trust Playdom on this one).

    4. Balance the Number of Each Building

Factories, homes and leisure buildings rely on each other in order for your city to grow as a whole. Make sure you strike a good balance between them in order to quickly grow your city's population and economy.

Pro tip: Keep track of your population cap on the city information screen, and always keep your population limit well above the actual population so that you don't end up losing citizens.

    5. Watch the Time

Like any other game where you have to wait for certain items to mature before you're able to collect the money and experience points they offer,

Pro tip: If you're sitting down for an hour-long session of Social City, choose contracts and set up residential buildings that can mature multiple times while you're actively playing. Most of the time you'll have a better return on your time/money this way. If you're leaving for work for the day, choose ones that will finish around the time you get home in the evening (same for night ones that will be ready when you wake up).

    6. Play With Friends

As is the norm in Facebook games, having friends who also play Social City gives you a leg up on earning money. Here, you'll be able to visit your friends' cities once a day to earn a bit of cash by way of 'helping' them out -- stopping a crime wave, saving a kitten from a tree or even just filling up potholes to save motorists. It doesn't require you to be particularly engaged with your friends' cities (you either help them out or just go back to your city) but does encourage you to get a sense of how their cities are laid out and how far they've progressed.

Pro tip: If you're averse to mass-adding your friends and worried you'll end up spamming those who aren't actually playing Social City, hit the 'Games' tab on the left-side Facebook column, scroll to 'Social City' and click on the 'Friends' link next to the title of the game. You'll get a popup that tells you which friends have added the application (information that Playdom sneakily hides from you on the in-game 'Invite Friends' area).

    Social City Cheats

There seems to be a variety of cheats listed for Social City. This is a relatively new game so most of them are still untested - try them all at your own risk and good luck!

    Free Factory Cheat

Press 8+F+G+BIG to get a free factory. You should be able to place your new factory anywhere within the city borders.

    Happiness by Shirt Color Cheat

This isn't so much a cheat as it is an easter egg in the game. If you click on one of your citizens that is wearing a red shirt, then click on someone in a green shirt and then a blue shirt (in that exact order) you can increase the overall happiness in your city by +1. You should be able to complete this cheat as many times as you like.

    Monster Factory Cheat

If you build a road in the shape of an 8x4 rectangle, you will be able to unlock the monster factory. (Untested.)

    Magic Wand Cheat

If you stay logged into Facebook and leave your game running for 96 HOURS, you will unlock the magic wand.

Play Social City on Facebook >

Click this link to get your free Gift Wagon. You can click 5 times.
If you already have 5 Gift Wagons, you will not be able to get anymore.

"Who is Checking my Facebook Profile" (Scam)

    Posted by oldx3 Tuesday, March 16, 2010

Off late I am being bombarded with loads of notifications on my Facebook profile and most of them are about me being tagged in a photo and a comment following that. And as you see in the screenshot above, they are about my friends checking ‘Who is glancing through my profile?’ or ‘Who has seen my profile?’

Yes, Facebook provides me an option to Hide and free myself from all such alerts. But the issue is that I see that there are many such apps (with different names) but doing the same thing. The app lures the users by promising to reveal which of their friends are checking out their Facebook profiles recently.

You must know by now that Facebook clearly states that such a thing is very much against their privacy policy. But somehow these apps are making their way into the Facebook app directory and (un)surprisingly find enough stupid innocent people to install them and get fooled. The names of some of these apps have SPAM written all over them. http://apps.facebook.com/azklaukfwucevsz/ is the name of one such app!

It seems, there are some Facebook pages as well which promise to reveal the identities of all those who are checking their Facebook profile, but I am very sure that they are nothing but fake and scam as the users are forced to complete surveys after surveys.

Why I think all these apps are fake? Because most of the notifications I get from Facebook are from those friends whose profile I have never checked. I checked this with a couple of other friends who also shared the same view as mine!

I am not sure what is the process followed by Facebook before approving these apps, but they certainly need to buckle up and evaluate each of them before giving a go-ahead signal.
Update: And now, within minutes of publishing this post, I see one of the apps taken down

Facebook Share Count Buttons For Blogger

    Posted by oldx3 Thursday, January 21, 2010

Facebook has now officially introduced the Retweet like buttons for your blogs or sites. These buttons look much similar to the Retweet buttons by Tweetmeme. Facebook has 5 styles of Sharing buttons. Here we will see two of them.
Adding a Facebook share count button will show a neat count of how many times your blog post has been shared on Facebook.

    Facebook Share Button Style 1

Code for Facebook Share Button Style 1

    <div style="float:right;padding:4px;">

    <a expr:share_url='data:post.url' name='fb_share' rel='nofollow' type='box_count'/>
